After losing their childhood best friend, Yalda and Lou are left to clear out Solveigh’s apartment. In Alisa Kolosova’s bittersweet love letter to female solidarity, the two women must confront the most important lingering question while they sift through memories: Who should take custody of Solveigh’s five-year-old daughter?
Yalda, Solveigh and Lou have been close friends since childhood. When Solveigh suddenly takes her own life, Yalda and Lou are left with lingering questions: How could it come to this? Which one of them is more suitable to take custody of Solveigh's five-year-old daughter? While clearing out Solveigh's apartment, the two sift through memories of their past with Solveigh to understand what they missed at the time, slowly rediscovering their bond.
Director Alisa Kolosova’s feature debut I Spy With My Little Eye demonstrates the maturity and confidence of a veteran filmmaker. The film is a sensitively observed, elegantly written drama about female friendship, grief and the strength required to hold onto those connective threads against all odds.
